A New Imino-Acid in some Liliaceae

Nature, 1955
LINKO and I1 isolated, last autumn, from Polygonatum officinale (and also from Convallaria majalis), a new imino-acid which on acid hydrolysis gave mostly homoserine. The elementary composition of the new compound corresponded to the formula (C4H7O2N)n and had [α]20D − 118.4° (in water).

Raman spectra of imino acids and poly‐L‐hydroxyproline

Biopolymers, 1971
AbstractThe Raman spectra of poly‐L‐hydroxyproline in the solid state and aqueous solution have been obtained. From the spectra, the conformations of the polypeptide in the solid and aqueous solution are found to be the same. Major differences in the spectra between the solid and solution are traced to environmental influences of the pyrrolidine group ...

Keto and imino acids in Delonix regia flowers

Phytochemistry, 1975
Abstract Floral parts and buds of Delonix regia contain α-ketoglutaric acid, oxaloacetic acid, pyruvic acid and glyoxylic acid. Proline and hydroxyproline biosynthesis has been demonstrated. The calyx and androecium accumulate glyoxylic acid, in amounts greater than those reported for other plants.

[Isomerism of imino acids in collagen peptides].

Biofizika, 1988
Trans/cis ratio of X-Hyp bonds in collagen peptides was determined by chemical shifts of C gamma Hyp in 13C. n. m. r. spectra. 44% of bonds in the cis form was found in human aortic collagen of the patient with idiotia. Probably, it was the result of molecular pathology of collagen during this disease.
