Immature Reticulocyte Fraction after Iron Therapy for Iron Deficiency Anemia.

Blood, 2005
Abstract Background: Automated counting of reticulocyte introduced new reticulocyte parameters such as immature reticulocyte fraction(IRF). IRF is thought to be more sensitive than absolute or corrected reticulocyte count for detecting recovery of bone marrow function. The aim of this study is to assess the role of IRF for predicting the

[The measurement of immature reticulocyte fractions and clinical significance].

Rinsho byori. The Japanese journal of clinical pathology, 2001
We evaluated automated analysis for the measurement of immature reticulocyte fraction(IRF) in 222 blood samples. IRF was performed by R-3000 & XE-2100(Sysmex), VEGA RETIC LC141(Horiba), ADVIA 120(Bayer medical), CELL DYN4000(Abbott) or GEN'S(Coulter), and compared with measurements obtained by visual counting.

Immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF) monitored in elite athletes during a whole season

Clinical and Laboratory Haematology, 2005
Sir, in a previous report (Banfi et al., 2004), we described the peculiar behaviour of the parameter immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF) in elite athletes. This parameter showed higher values in athletes than those in sedentary people, although the reference ranges are also applicable to them.

Immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF)--an universal marker of hemopoiesis in children with cancer?

Advances in medical sciences, 2007
Anemia is one of the most frequent side effects of anticancer treatment, it is also caused by disease itself. Reliable laboratory tests indicating hematological recovery after chemo- and radiotherapy are needed. Effective erythropoiesis can be monitored by quantitative measurement of reticulocytes.
