Analysis of hematological parameters in male plateletpheresis donors

open access: yesZhongguo shuxue zazhi, 2023
Objective To investigate the variation of hematological parameters in male plateletpheresis donors. Methods A total of 194 male plateletpheresis donors from Fujian Blood Center were divided into two groups according to the frequency of blood donation ...

Five Fully Automated Methods for Performing Immature Reticulocyte Fraction [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Clinical Pathology, 2002
We performed a parallel evaluation of 5 automated reticulocyte counters to produce the immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF). We analyzed 225 samples from healthy control subjects, 115 from patients with various diseases, 38 with advanced aplasia, and 22 in early erythropoietic recovery after chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation.

Reticulocytes in untreated Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

open access: yesMonaldi Archives for Chest Disease, 2016
Background and Aim. The short, repetitive hypoxaemic episodes observed in obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) may determine small augmentations in mature red blood cells. It is unknown whether they affect reticulocyte release.

The Clinical Utility of Red Blood Cells and Reticulocyte-Related Indices for Early Detection of Latent Iron Deficiency

open access: yesKing Khalid University Journal of Health Sciences, 2020
Background: Iron deficiency (ID) with and without anemia is common among young women of childbearing age. Screening and early diagnosis of ID before anemia develops are relevant to manage before the symptomatic stage.

A New Parameter for Erythropoiesis: The Relationship of Immature Reticulocyte Fraction Values in Cord Blood with Clinical Factors and Reference Values for Newborns

open access: yesDüzce Tıp Fakültesi Dergisi, 2023
Aim: The immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF) is a new parameter for the reticulocyte maturity index, representing an independent parameter of erythropoiesis that may be useful to better assess erythropoietic activity in neonates.

Research progress on biomarkers of traumatic brain injury

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Traumatic brain injury: From primary insult to secondary neuroinflammation and degeneration. Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common disorder of the nervous system and has become a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on patients and their social circles. Its main symptoms include dyskinesia, language

Manual immature reticulocyte fraction; a surrogate marker to assess post traumatic blood loss

open access: yesGalle Medical Journal, 2021
Introduction: Erythropoietic response following chemotherapy and stem cell transplant is assessed by reticulocytosis and immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF). They are not used to assess erythropoiesis following acute haemorrhage even though it is known to cause reticulocytosis.

Therapeutic Applications of Stimuli‐Based Release and Engineering of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the effects of endogenous and exogenous stimuli, their effects on the natural release of extracellular vesicles, as well as their uptake and release. It also gives an overview of stimuli‐responsive EVs and their therapeutic applications. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), nano‐ to microsized lipid bilayer membrane‐bound particles, are
