Cell-Mediated Immunity in Tumor Rejection
1982It is now almost axiomatic that host immune reactivity is an important factor in resistance to tumors, regardless of the tumor initiating agent or event. Although much effort was initially expended concerning humoral immune mechanism in malignancy, many studies over the last decade or so have focused attention mainly on cell-mediated immune (CMI ...

Immunity of Allograft Rejection: An Overview
2004Transplantation between genetically disparate individuals of the same species evokes numerous changes in the host and the graft. In general, the outcome of a transplanted organ is determined by two closely interrelated components. The first component is the biology of the foreign graft (i.e., type of organ and its macro-and microenvironments, the ...

Tumor Rejection Antigens and Immune Surveillance
1992The existence of specific tumor rejection antigens was first demonstrated with chemically induced mouse sarcomas: each tumor was found to express a different antigen [1]. Similar findings were made with ultraviolet-induced tumors [2]. Later, the generality of the existence of tumor rejection antigens was questioned when spontaneous mouse tumors were ...

Tumour rejection in immunized guinea-pigs.
British journal of experimental pathology, 1984The morphological aspect of the antineoplastic defence mechanism was studied in Sewall-Wright strain 13 guinea pigs using isogeneic line 2 hepatoma cells. When these tumour cells were injected i.p. into isogeneic hosts, they grew rapidly and always killed their hosts within 8 weeks.
