Immunoblot fingerprinting Aspergillus fumigatus
Journal of Immunological Methods, 1989A new technique for typing Aspergillus fumigatus is presented. This is based on immunoblot fingerprinting each isolate against a rabbit hyperimmune antiserum raised against A. fumigatus NCTC 2109. All isolates were typable and reproducibility for the 16 antigenic bands which formed the basis of the system was excellent.

Two-dimensional electrophoresis (2DE) immunoblotting combines the resolving power of 2DE and the selectivity of antibodies, allowing the selection of individual or sets of proteins from the total proteome. It is essential when immunoblotting membranes that reproducible 2DE gels are obtained consistently.

Preparing Immunoprecipitations for Immunoblotting
Cold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2020Immunoprecipitated proteins can be readily analyzed by immunoblotting. Proteins can be efficiently eluted from the Protein A or similar beads by addition of the SDS-PAGE sample loading buffer and heating at 95°C. This elution procedure will also remove the capturing antibody from the beads unless the antibody was cross-linked to the beads ...

Two basic methods can be used for the identification of specific antigens by their corresponding antibodies: immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting (often referred to as Western blotting) (1,2). Each has its advantages. Immunoprecipitation is likely to permit the detection of both conformational and sequential epitopes and is equally efficient at ...

Protein Blotting and Immunoblotting
2000Immunoblotting was first devised by Towbin et al. (1979) to exploit the specificity of the reaction between antibodies and proteins transferred from SDS- polyacrylamide electrophoretic gels onto nitrocellulose. Immunoreactive bands were evidenced by labelled “second antibody” or protein A.

[Countercurrent immunoblotting].
Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1988Urinary proteins, concentrated and separated on cellulose-acetate membranes by counterflow isotachophoresis (ITP), were transferred by direct contact onto a strip of nitrocellulose membrane (NCM). ITP in the system of electrolytes: tris-HCl, pH 6.7 (the leading one) and tris-beta-alanine, pH 8.6 (the terminal one) gives rise to a strong electroendo ...
