Pulmonary Malakoplakia Associated with Peripheral Cysts in an Immunocompetent Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Chest Surgery, 2022
Pulmonary malakoplakia is a rare lung lesion more frequently found in immunocompromised patients than in immunocompetent individuals. In this study, we report the challenging case of a young immunocompetent patient with an irregular pulmonary nodule ...

Hydrogel Confinement Strategies for 3D Cell Culture in Microfluidic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hydrogel confinement structures are key to organizing 3D cell cultures in microfluidic devices. This review classifies five structural strategies (micropillar, phaseguide, porous membrane, stepped‐height, and support‐free) and examines their trade‐offs alongside fabrication methods.

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Cryptosporidiosis in Immunocompetent Patients

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 1985
The intestinal protozoan cryptosporidium is known to cause diarrhea in immunocompromised patients, but few cases have been reported in detail in immunocompetent persons. During a 12-month period, we identified cryptosporidium in the stools of 43 immunocompetent patients.

Targeting the PGRN‐BMP Lysosomal Axis With NPs@PGRN Reverses Immunometabolic Dysfunction in Chronic Septic Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic septic arthritis involves intracellular bacterial persistence and lipid‐immune crosstalk via the PGRN‐BMP lysosomal axis. A dual‐targeting nanoparticle system (NPs@PGRN) restores lysosomal bactericidal function, reduces bacterial burden, and reprograms macrophage immunity, offering a novel therapeutic strategy. ABSTRACT Chronic septic arthritis,

Seasonal variation of immune response to heterologous erythrocytes in natural populations of red‐backed (Clethrionomys rutilus) and gray‐sided (C. rufocanus) voles in Western Siberia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2022
We studied the seasonal variation of adaptive humoral immunity (AHI) in northern red‐backed vole (Clethrionomys rutilus Pallas, 1779, RBV) and gray‐sided vole (C. rufocanus Sundevall, 1846, GSV) in Tomsk region of Western Siberia.

Pulmonary cryptococcosis presenting as miliary tuberculosis in an immunocompetent patient

open access: yesThe Journal of Association of Chest Physicians, 2021
Pulmonary Cryptococcosis is a rare and difficult to diagnose entity. It has been found to be associated with immunocompromised patients. Pulmonary Cryptococcosis in an immunocompetent patient is extremely rare condition.

ITGB1 Regulates Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Development by Modulating the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumorigenesis and metastasis are frequently attributed to the intricate interplay between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME). Comprehending the mechanisms and key regulators of cancer‐immune crosstalk in the TME is imperative for developing efficacious immunotherapy.
