Protocol for adhesion and immunostaining of lymphocytes and other non-adherent cells in culture

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2017
Immunostaining of non-adherent cells is commonly performed after adhesion of cells onto microscope slides either using cytocentrifugation or with the help of charged coating substrates.

Restoring NK Cell Cytotoxicity Post‐Cryopreservation via Synthetic Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, it is shown that 1‐day co‐culture with activated T cells or IL‐2‐presenting synthetic cells significantly enhances NK cell motility and cytotoxicity in 2D and 3D. Notably, synthetic cells restore the impaired cytotoxic function of cryopreserved NK and CAR‐NK cells in 3D.

Immunocytochemistry of pituitary tumors. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 1987
Pituitary tumors from 376 patients were investigated, using immunocytochemical techniques at the light and electron microscopic level, and autoradiography combined with immunocytochemistry for localizing somatostatin (SRIH) receptors. Prolactinomas, growth hormone-secreting adenomas causing acromegaly, and hormonally inactive adenomas were most ...

Protein kinase a distribution differentiates human glioblastoma from brain tissue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Brain tumor glioblastoma has no clear molecular signature and there is no effective therapy. In rodents, the intracellular distribution of the cyclic AMP (cAMP)-dependent protein kinase (Protein kinase A, PKA) R2Alpha subunit was previously shown to ...

PSMD14‐Mediated LDHA Deubiquitination Upregulates ACLY Expression via H3K18 Lactylation to Promote Lipid Synthesis and Pancreatic Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the expression and functional role of the deubiquitinase PSMD14 in PC, with a focus on the mechanism by which it promotes lactate accumulation–induced histone lactylation, thereby driving aberrant lipid metabolism. These findings establish that dual targeting of PSMD14 and the glycolysis–lactylation signaling axis may represent ...

Effects of a 10% carbamide peroxide bleaching agent on rat oral epithelium proliferation

open access: yesBrazilian Dental Journal, 2002
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the influence of short course topical application of carbamide peroxide on proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) immunohistochemical expression in the oral tongue mucosa of rats.

Netrin‐1 and B‐cell maturation antigen expression in a large cohort of 361 lymphomas: sensitive and specific staining in plasmablastic lymphomas, and therapeutic perspectives

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research
Netrin‐1 and B‐cell maturation antigen (BCMA) are currently being evaluated as therapeutic targets in oncology. However, studies investigating their expression in mature human lymphoid malignancies are sparse.

Porphyromonas gingivalis lipopolysaccharide alters atherosclerotic-related gene expression in oxidized low-density-lipoprotein-induced macrophages and foam cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The molecular mechanism between atherosclerosis formation and periodontal pathogens is not clear although positive correlation between periodontal infections and cardiovascular diseases has been reported.

Cerebral Organoids with Integrated Endothelial Networks Emulate the Neurovascular Unit and Mitigate Core Necrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fumadó Navarro et al. present an optimized strategy to generate vascular‐like networks that infiltrate within cerebral organoids with promising signs of blood‐brain barrier characteristics, preserved stiffness, uniform morphology, enhanced media diffusion, and reduced necrotic core.
