Sequence homology between two immunodiagnostic fusion proteins from Echinococcus multilocularis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Serological diagnosis of alveolar hydatid disease using crude parasite antigen is problematical with the result that several groups have addressed the question of specific serodiagnosis using defined native or recombinant antigens.

The Effect of Lipemia on Insulin and Adiponectin Measurement in Equine Blood Samples

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Lipemia is a common comorbidity in horses with obesity or equine metabolic syndrome, but the impact of lipemia on the measurement of insulin and adiponectin has not been evaluated. Objective To evaluate endogenous and exogenous lipemic interference with equine insulin and adiponectin measurements via several commercial assays ...

RELEVANCE OF RAPID IMMUNODIAGNOSTIC TEST KITS IN MALARIA DIAGNOSIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Over the past few decades, rapid immunodiagnostic test kits (RIDTK) have been used to compliment microscopy in parasitemia detection. In order to reduce malaria mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa where malaria is endemic, the most important characteristics ...

Effects of 14 days of head‐down bed rest with or without exercise, and subsequent recovery on bone turnover, density and structure in older adults

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Bed rest accelerates bone loss and may exacerbate skeletal fragility. This study examined the effects of 14 days of head‐down tilt bed rest (HDBR) with or without exercise, and subsequent recovery, on bone turnover, density and structure in older adults. Twenty‐two healthy older adults (55–65 years) completed the HDBR protocol.

Molecular and immunodiagnostic investigations on bovine neosporosis in Switzerland. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Neospora caninum has gained considerable attention through its role in the aetiology of bovine abortion. Due to its close phylogenetic relationship with Toxoplasma gondii, respective unequivocal differential diagnosis deserves special consideration.

Diagnostic Performance of Comprehensive Point‐of‐Care Ultrasound for Pediatric Tuberculosis in Spain: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 54, Issue 6, Page 1425-1432, July/August 2026.
In children with presumptive tuberculosis, comprehensive point‐of‐care (cPOCUS) identified key thoracic abnormalities with high specificity and excellent inter‐reader reliability. Although diagnostic sensitivity was modest and examinations often incomplete, cPOCUS shows promise as a complementary, radiation‐free imaging tool.

Vitamin D supplementation in the first 2 years and autism spectrum traits at 6–8 years – a randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 67, Issue 7, Page 1004-1014, July 2026.
Background Early life vitamin D levels may be associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related traits, but causality is unknown. We examine whether higher‐than‐standard vitamin D3 supplementation during the first 2 years, as well as higher pregnancy and childhood 25‐hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels and their trajectories, are associated with
