Electrophoresis and Immunoelectrophoresis.

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1971
This book explains the basic principles of electrophoresis and immunoelectrophoresis, discusses specific applications of these techniques in the clinical laboratory, and is appended with technical details of each of the methods considered. The advantages of this text are numerous.

Electrophoresis and Immunoelectrophoresis [PDF]

open access: possible, 1979
For a detailed consideration of electrophoretic techniques and the factors which influence them the standard texts are recommended1-3. This discussion will be restricted to those aspects of electrophoresis which are most likely to affect the practical applications particularly as applied to proteins.

Crossed Immunoelectrophoresis and Electroimmunoassay of IgG

The Journal of Immunology, 1974
Abstract Simple procedures for crossed immunoelectrophoresis and electroimmunoassay of IgG are described. It is shown how crossed immunoelectrophoresis can readily be used to demonstrate different types of IgG immune responses as well as the formation of complexes between IgG and other molecules.

Theoretical analysis of immunoelectrophoresis

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1962
An analysis is made of the processes that lead to the formation of the initial zone of precipitation between antigen and antibody during immunoelectrophoresis. With the aid of certain simplifying assumptions, equations are developed which describe: (1) the concentration distribution of electrophoretically heterogeneous antigen after electrophoresis, (2)

Double immunoelectrophoresis: A modified method for the identification of precipitation arcs in immunoelectrophoresis

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1974
Abstract A modification of immunoelectrophoresis is described which facilitates the identification of precipitation arcs of individual proteins. The technique consists of simultaneous electrophoretic separation of the protein mixture and reference protein(s) on the same electrophoretic axis, followed by reaction with the antiserum.

Immunoelectrophoresis for the Characterization of Allergen Extracts

2008
Immunoelectrophoresis can be used for analysis of individual proteins in complex mixtures. The conditions involved in immunoelectrophoresis are mild, avoiding the risk of denaturation, and it is possible to perform relative quantification of individual components. The principle disadvantage is the dependence on rabbit antisera as reagents.

Serology, Immunochemistry, and Immunoelectrophoresis

1994
Immune phenomena play a vital role in the health and disease of higher animals. Among these phenomena are (1) the protection conferred on higher animals against certain viral- and bacterial-induced diseases, either by their survival of an initial attack of the disease or by the deliberate injection of a modified form of the disease-producing agent ...

Immunoelectrophoresis: A Method with Many Faces

2012
Immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) was the first practical method that combined electrophoresis and immunoprecipitation for identifying and characterizing proteins within complex mixtures. Over the years, IEP has been extended to include a variety of techniques and, as a general name, has been applied to virtually any technique that involves electrophoresis ...
