Clustering of the high affinity Fc receptor for immunoglobulin G (Fc gamma RI) results in phosphorylation of its associated gamma-chain.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1994
We are investigating the role of gamma-chain in functions mediated by the high affinity Fc receptor for IgG (Fc gamma RI). In a previous study, we found that gamma-chain, which is a member of the family of zeta-chain proteins, associates with Fc gamma RI.

Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

IL‐13 determines specific IgE responses and SARS‐CoV‐2 immunity after mild COVID‐19 and novel mRNA vaccination

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 52, Issue 12, Page 1972-1979, December 2022., 2022
To investigate atopic immune reactions in response to SARS‐CoV‐2 mRNA vaccinations or mild infections serum IgE and cytokines were analyzed. An atopic environment prone to reactions against aeroallergens was revealed in convalescents but not vaccinated.

Polyphenol‐Derived Carbonaceous Frameworks with Multiscale Porosity for High‐Power Electrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the fluid dynamic behavior within carbonaceous porous structures, linking structural characteristics to electrolyte transport and electrochemical performance. Specifically, it quantitatively assesses the effect of polyphenol derivatives‐harnessed multiscale pore structures on active surface utilization and electrochemical activity ...

Evolution and Mutations of Beta 2 Microglobulin [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Here we examine the evolution of beta-2 microglobulin in terms of its hydropathic shapes, a theoretical construct that has revealed important trends. The dynamics of many proteins are largely driven by interactions between the protein itself and the thin water film that covers it.

Progress in Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells: Paving the Way for Scalable Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are well positioned for a successful market uptake. This is due to an unprecedented improvement of their efficiency and stability since the first report in 2009. In this review paper, the building blocks for the scalable manufacturing and future commercialization of flexible PSCs and their pathway to impact will be ...

PCR Analysis of Immunoglobulin Heavy Chain (IgH) and TcR-γ Chain Gene Rearrangements in the Diagnosis of Lymphoproliferative Disorders: Results of a Study of 525 Cases [PDF]

open access: yesModern Pathology, 2000
This report summarizes a cumulative 4-year experience in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis of immunoglobin heavy chain (IgH) and TcR-gamma chain gene rearrangements in 525 cases of lymphoproliferative disorders. Because the sensitivity of the PCR methodology was found to be tissue dependent, in the study of the presence of clonal cell population

Combining of Oncolytic Virotherapy and Other Immunotherapeutic Approaches in Cancer: A Powerful Functionalization Tactic

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Combining oncolytic viruses with anti‐checkpoint antibodies such as anti‐PD‐1, anti‐PDL‐1, and anti‐CTLA4 or CAR‐T cells can be effective in cancer therapy in a synergistic fashion. Oncolytic virotherapy induces the expression of PD‐1 and PDL‐1 in the tumor microenvironment components. Virotherapy promotes the infiltration of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells into

Mean Field Approach for a Statistical Mechanical Model of Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Phys., vol.119, pag.1248 (2003), 2003
We study the thermodynamical properties of a topology-based model proposed by Galzitskaya and Finkelstein for the description of protein folding. We devise and test three different mean-field approaches for the model, that simplify the treatment without spoiling the description.
