Ku70 Is Required for Late B Cell Development and Immunoglobulin Heavy Chain Class Switching [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Immunoglobulin (Ig) heavy chain (HC) class switch recombination (CSR) is a late B cell process that involves intrachromosomal DNA rearrangement.

Crowding-Regulated Binding of Divalent Biomolecules [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 130, 258401 (2023)
Macromolecular crowding affects biophysical processes as diverse as diffusion, gene expression, cell growth, and senescence. Yet, there is no comprehensive understanding of how crowding affects reactions, particularly multivalent binding. Herein, we use scaled particle theory and develop a molecular simulation method to investigate the binding of ...

Complete analysis of the B-cell response to a protein antigen, from in vivo germinal centre formation to 3-D modelling of affinity maturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Somatic hypermutation of immunoglobulin variable region genes occurs within germinal centres (GCs) and is the process responsible for affinity maturation of antibodies during an immune response.

Novel Less Toxic, Lymphoid Tissue‐Targeted Lipid Nanoparticles Containing a Vitamin B5‐Derived Ionizable Lipid for mRNA Vaccine Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
The top‐performing lipid nanoparticle, incorporating a novel ionizable lipid derived from vitamin B5, demonstrates high mRNA transfection efficiency, low toxicity, favorable stability, targeted delivery to lymphoid tissues, and high immunogenicity, showing promise as a carrier for mRNA vaccines for infectious diseases and cancer.

A Low-temperature 1H NMR Study of H2O and D2O Associated Competitively with Immunoglobulin G in Solution [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
An approach has been proposed to characterize the competitive association of D2O and to study the heterogeneity of hydration water adsorbed by the protein, immunoglobulin G, using methodology for determining of non-freezing water in mixed H2O-D2O protein solutions by low-temperature 1H NMR technique. Direct data on the numbers of deuteriums adsorbed by

Humoral and Secretory Immunoglobulins of the Sheepshead, Archosargus probatocephalus, A Marine Teleost [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
The sheepshead has two readily isolatable humoral immunoglobulins, a 16S tetrameric form and a 6S monomeric form. The 16S tetrameric form is composed of two subpopulations, one being a disulfide linked form (~700,000 daltons) and the other a ...

A mouse renin promoter containing the conserved decanucleotide element binds the same B-cell factors as an authentic immunoglobulin heavy chain promoter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A mouse renin-1 gene promoter fragment, normally inactive in B-cells, becomes a potent promoter in these cells after insertion of the highly conserved decanucleotide (dc/cd sequence) of immunoglobulin heavy and light chain promoters [(1987) EMBO J.

Extracellular Matrix‐Mediated Crosslinking of Adhesive Hyaluronic Acid Patch for Treating Volumetric Muscle Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel strategy for preparing a biocompatible adhesive hydrogel crosslinked with a muscle tissue‐derived extracellular matrix (MEM) for in situ muscle regeneration. As a natural crosslinker, MEM not only mediates combinatorial polymer networks but also stimulates satellite cells to induce a cell‐free therapeutic solution.
