Immunoglobulin-Y (IgY) levels in domestic fowl exposed to red mite (Dermanyssus gallinae)

Proceedings of the British Society of Animal Science, 2005
Red mite (Dermanyssus gallinae; De Geer, 1778) is currently the most economically deleterious ectoparasite of layer hens in several countries (Chauve, 1998). D. gallinae is an obligatory haematophagous ectoparasite of both domestic and wild birds (Bruneau et al., 2001), only found on the host during darkness when obtaining a blood meal.

Preparation of Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) Against Lipopolysaccharide using Gel Chromatography from the Yolks of Eggs Laid by Immunized Hens

The Protein Journal, 2010
The objective is to prevent and treat injuries caused by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from gram negative bacteria in animals and humans, we produced antibodies against LPS from egg yolk. LPS from E. coli (O111:B4) mixed with Freund's Adjuvant was used as the immunogen to immunize Roman hens.

Investigation the production rate of anti-Streptococcus mutans immunoglobulin Y (IgY) in serum and egg yolk of hens

2019
ntroduction: Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) is a Gram-positive bacterium that lives in the mouth and contributes in to the formation of dental caries. Production and evaluation of hens egg yolk and serum antibodies in poultry industry are important. Objectives: The serum and egg yolk of immunized hens were evaluated for producing of anti-S.

Purification of Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) from the Ostrich (Struthio camelus) by Staphylococcal Protein A (SpA) Affinity Chromatography

Journal of Chromatography & Separation Techniques, 2012
Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) is the major protein present in the avian egg yolk. This antibody fulfils important functions in the protection of Ostrich birds against infections. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the binding capacity of Staphylococcal proteins A (SpA) to Ostrich IgY and assess purification of the IgY by SpA affinity chromatography ...

Development of polyclonal chicken egg yolk immunoglobulin Y (IgY) antibodies targeting SARS-CoV-2 multi-epitope antigen

Journal of Virological Methods
Severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the primary cause of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which affects millions of people worldwide with high levels of infectivity and mortality. However, the antibodies developed for COVID-19 research and diagnostics are still limited. Therefore, in this study, we developed
