Long-term IgE immunological tolerance to peanut allergens: An alternative to Noon’s daily desensitization paradigm

open access: closedCellular Immunology, 2022
Herein, we show that profound afferent long-term peanut-allergen-specific IgE immunological tolerance for 3 to 9 months induced sustained unresponsiveness (SU) in naïve or peanut-sensitized rodents after peanut allergen immunization. Rodents were vaccinated sublingually with a peanut allergen extract or recombinant peanut allergen in chenodeoxycholate (

First successful concomitant therapy of immune tolerance induction therapy and desensitization in a CRIM-negative infantile Pompe patient

Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology & Metabolism (JPEM), 2021
Objectives Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) with alglucosidase alfa (rhGAA) has changed the fatal course of infantile Pompe disease, however, development of anti rhGAA antibodies and infusion-associated reactions (IAR) restrict the tolerability and ...

The effect of lipopolysaccharide desensitization on the regulation of in vivo induction of immunologic tolerance and antibody production and in vitro release of IL-1.

open access: closedJournal of Immunology, 1989
As previously reported, LPS and 8-derivatized guanosine (both generators of IL-1 release), as well as IL-1 itself interfere with the in vivo induction of tolerance to DHGG in A/J mice.

Insulin allergy. Clinical and immunological effects of specific desensitization

Acta Diabetologica Latina, 1969
Five patients with insulin allergy were desensitized with porcine insulin according to the method of Urbach and Gotlieb. The diagnosis of insulin allergy was based on clinical manifestations, positive skin tests, and, moreover, on positive Prausnitz-Kustner (P.K.) reactions in 2 cases. Successful desensitization was obtained in 3 cases.

Patient and Graft Outcome Among High Immunologic Risk Renal Transplant Recipients

Transplantation, 2018
Introduction Kidney transplantation (KT) is the preferred treatment for ESRD. However, some patients had prior HLA sensitization making them immunologically high risk for graft rejection and poorer graft survival.
