Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Contact-allergy time [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
The most commonly used techniques for the in vivo evaluation of the cellular immune response include intracutaneous testing with microbial recall antigens or sensitization with neoantigens.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Laparoscopic splenectomy advantages over open surgery [PDF]

open access: yesReviews in Clinical Medicine, 2015
In recent years, laparoscopy has become a popular surgical method. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery, which results in minor traumas in comparison with conventional open surgeries.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Lymph Node Inclusion in a Modified Osteomyocutaneous Allograft for Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation: Establishment and Feasibility Assessment in a Pig Model

open access: yesPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Global Open
Background:. Representative translational animal models play a key role in vascularized composite allotransplantation (VCA) research. A composite porcine hindlimb flap, previously described, is a relevant preclinical model. However, its bulkiness and the

Surgical techniques for pancreas transplantation

open access: yes, 2005
Purpose of review: From the beginning, pancreas transplantation proved to be effective but was associated with high rates of surgical complications and technical failure. Duct management and venous drainage were soon identified as major issues.
