Sertraline Treatment Can Mimic Niemann‐Pick Type C Biomarker Profile: A Diagnostic Pitfall
ABSTRACT Background Oxysterols (cholestane‐3β,5α,6β‐triol and 7‐ketocholesterol) and N‐palmitoyl‐O‐phosphocholineserine (PPCS) are sensitive biomarkers for Niemann‐Pick disease type C (NPC) screening. However, false‐positive results occur, with a biomarker profile suggestive of NPC despite the absence of pathogenic variants in genes involved in NPC or ...

Positron-impact ionization of hydrogen atoms
The ionization cross section of hydrogen atoms by positron impact has been calculated by using a distorted-wave polarized-orbital method. We have employed two models depending on the choice of the final-channel wave function, and the two sets of results

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Cross Sections and Rate Coefficients for Electron-Impact Ionization of Hydrocarbon Molecules
A critical assessment of available experimental and theoretical cross sections for electron-impact direct and dissociative ionization of hydrocarbon molecules, C_x H_y (x=1-3, 1 leq y leq 2x+2), has been carried out.

Electron impact ionization of Kr10+-Kr18+ ions
Cross-sections for single ionization of Kr10+-Kr18+ ions by electron impact are calculated in the Coulomb-Born approximation by the code "ATOM" and compared with experimental data and with other theoretical results for charge states 10 and 18.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Electron-impact excitation and ionization of atomic boron at low and intermediate energies
We present a comprehensive study of electron collisions with boron atoms by using the B-spline R-matrix method for electron energies ranging from threshold to 100 eV.

Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...
