The impact of cognitive load on the perception of time

Proceedings of the 6th Nordic Conference on Human-Computer Interaction: Extending Boundaries, 2010
In cognitive psychology it is well known that cognitive load can have a significant impact on time perception. In this paper, we present an observation made during an empirical evaluation of several input techniques, showing that the cognitive load occurring during user input can significantly reduce perceived time.

Impact Loading and Testing

2003
Abstract This article discusses the material and engineering issues associated with plastic components subjected to impact. The first part covers the effects of loading rate, temperature, and state of stress on both deformation and mode of failure. It discusses standard impact tests, along with their associated results.

Impact loaded structures

2004
An experimental apparatus has been constructed to simulate the impact of an aircraft against a nuclear power plant. In order to test the equipment some preliminary tests were carried out with simple inexpensive missiles against a rigid steel plate target.

Water Impact Loads

Marine Technology and SNAME News, 1976
This paper covers an analysis of different types of slamming experiments with account taken of different model structural characteristics and the effect of air entrapped in the water. Model data for peak impact pressure are found to correlate on the basis of an absolute pressure ratio and a velocity ratio that accounts for inertial effects.

RF loading impact on WCDMA jamming

2011 5th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ICSPCS), 2011
The effect of a mobile jammer on wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) networks is influenced by radio network loading. A model of the WCDMA access control algorithm was developed and used to investigate network performance under jamming and various loading conditions.

Impact of anticholinergic load on bladder function

International Urogynecology Journal, 2014
Our aim was to evaluate the impact of anticholinergic load on urinary retention based on postvoid residual (PVR) on micturition study. Secondary objectives were to assess the effect of anticholinergic load on other urodynamic parameters. This was a retrospective cohort study of women who underwent urodynamics (UDS) at one academic institution.

Trauma of lung due to impact load

Journal of Biomechanics, 1988
A quantitative evaluation of lung injury due to impact loading is of general interest. Hemorrhage and edema are the usual sequelae to traumatic pulmonary impact. To gain some quantitative understanding of the phenomena, we perfused excised rabbit lung with Macrodex at isogravimetric condition and monitored lung weight continuously after impact.
