Methods of Increasing Efficiency of Antennas Embedded in Dissipative Media

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника, 2017
The article considers the problem of increasing efficiency for antennas embedded in dissipative media that has limited number of solutions today. The author makes attempts to study the possibility of using plate antennas for different parameters of ...

Hemostasis-On-a-Chip: Impedance Spectroscopy Meets Microfluidics for Hemostasis Evaluation

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
In the case of vascular injury, a complex process (of clotting) starts, involving mainly platelets and coagulation factors. This process in healthy humans is known as hemostasis, but when it is deregulated (thrombosis), it can be the cause of important ...

Impedance spectroscopy: Impedance spectroscopy of nanomaterials

open access: yes, 2022
Solid state impedance spectroscopy enables the various contributions to the resistive and capacitive properties of electronically inhomogeneous condensed matter to be deconvoluted and characterized separately. The different contributions arise from electronically distinct areas in the sample, which can in an ideal case be represented each by one ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Wave impedance matrices for cylindrically anisotropic radially inhomogeneous elastic solids

open access: yes, 2010
Impedance matrices are obtained for radially inhomogeneous structures using the Stroh-like system of six first order differential equations for the time harmonic displacement-traction 6-vector.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

On the potential of using fractional-order systems to model the respiratory impedance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This contribution provides an analysis of the human respiratory system in frequency domain by means of estimating the respiratory impedance. Further on, analysis of several models for human respiratory impedance is done, leading to the conclusion that a ...

Analytical theory of coherent synchrotron radiation wakefield of short bunches shielded by conducting parallel plates

open access: yes, 2016
We develop a general model of coherent synchrotron radiation (CSR) impedance with shielding provided by two parallel conducting plates. This model allows us to easily reproduce all previously known analytical CSR wakes and to expand the analysis to the ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
