An impedance model for EIS analysis of nickel metal hydride batteries

open access: yes, 2017
Based on fundamental electrochemical theory, an impedance model for analysis of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) of Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries is presented in this study.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Measurement of the dielectric constant in a microwave near field

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This study describes a method based on the measurement of a reflection coefficient to determine the dielectric constant of a sample by near-field microwave. A mathematical relation between the reflection coefficient and the parameters of a lumped circuit

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Stability and adaptability analysis of the traction power supply system with photovoltaic and energy storage under two access structures [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Electrical Engineering
The integration of photovoltaic and the energy storage system into traction power supply systems under railway power conditioner (RPC) or voltage source converter (VSC) access structures changes the original pure AC system into a hybrid AC/DC system.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Model of Impedance Changes in Unmyelinated Nerve Fibers

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2019
Currently, there is no imaging method that is able to distinguish the functional activity inside nerves. Such a method would be essential for understanding peripheral nerve physiology and would allow precise neuromodulation of organs these nerves supply.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Mechanism of Suppressing DFIG Shafting–Grid-Connected Oscillations Through Coordinated Optimization of Dual Damping Terms Under Frequency Coupling

open access: yesEnergies
Sub-synchronous oscillations (SSOs) induced by the interaction between doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) and weak grids pose a critical threat to the grid-connected stability of DFIG-based wind power systems.
