Static and dynamic rheo-impedance characterization of PEMFC catalyst inks

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications
Catalyst layers are critical to the performance and durability of fuel cells. Because the structure of the catalyst layer is strongly influenced by the microstructure, agglomeration state, and interparticle interactions established in the catalyst ink ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Optimizing Tonpilz Transducer Transmission Through Impedance Matching and Head Mass Structure

open access: yesMicromachines
The bandwidth and output power of underwater acoustic transmitters are important for high-performance sonar detection systems. A mismatch between the impedance of the transducer and the transmitting circuit results in a low power factor, significantly ...

Adaptive Impedance Tuning Network using Genetic Algorithm: ITuneGA

open access: yes, 2016
Adaptive impedance tuning algorithms are used to preserve the link quality of mobile phones under fluctuating user conditions. It is highly desirable to correct the complex impedance mismatch with high convergence rate.

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Two port network analysis for three impedance based oscillators

open access: yes, 2011
Two-port network representations are applied to analyze complex networks which can be dissolved into sub-networks connected in series, parallel or cascade. In this paper, the concept of two-port network has been studied for oscillators.
