Analysis of equivalent impedance characteristics of a high power RF ion source driver

open access: yesHe jishu, 2021
BackgroundThe ion source is one of the key components of the neutral beam injection system. Radio frequency (RF) ion source has the advantages of long life time, easy maintenance and long pules operation, which make it the main alternative source for the

Loading Effect of W-band Resonant Tunneling Diode Oscillator by Using Load-Pull Measurement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Resonant tunneling diode (RTD) is the fastest solid-state electronic device with the highest reported frequency at 1.92 THz [1]. RTD-based THz sources have many promising applications such as ultrafast wireless communications, THz imaging, etc.

A three-dimensional backward-wave network matched with free space

open access: yes, 2007
A backward-wave slab based on a capacitively and inductively loaded three-dimensional transmission-line network is designed in such a way that impedance-matching with free space is obtained.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A Comprehensive Review of Grid-Connected PV Systems Based on Impedance Source Inverter

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The increase in linking photovoltaic (PV) power plants to utility grids are due to the world expansion in PV systems and its advantages of low running cost, renewable, etc. Although PV is now considered one of the main power sources in many countries, it

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Zener diode function generator requires no external reference voltage [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
Function generator utilizing parallel impedance networks with zener diodes produces functions which are discontinuous in slope. The function generated appears at the output of the parallel network in the form of a voltage varying in ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Low-Resolution Fault Localization Using Phasor Measurement Units with Community Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A significant portion of the literature on fault localization assumes (more or less explicitly) that there are sufficient reliable measurements to guarantee that the system is observable. While several heuristics exist to break the observability barrier,
