Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Adult Learning in STEM Disciplines
ABSTRACT Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are reshaping adult learning in STEM by providing adaptive, data‐driven instruction across classrooms, workplaces, and informal environments. In the context of ITS, this article compares generative AI, which creates personalized explanations and practice materials, with explainable AI, which focuses on ...

A novel thermo-elastoplastic self-consistent homogenization model for granular materials that exhibit inter-granular plasticity is presented. The model, TEPSCA, is made possible by identifying a new inter-granular plastic Eshelby-like tensor.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

On some general imperfect interface models for conductivity problem
Three general imperfect interface models for thermal conduction are presented. The discontinuity of the microscopic field is described through the interface parameters: one characterizes the temperature jump, and another controls the heat flux jump ...

Toward stochastic imperfect interfaces
AbstractIn this article, we propose two families of models for damaged materials that take uncertainties into account. First, in the context of standard materials, two volume models are proposed. Uncertainties are introduced using the Itô integral. Second, two interface models are proposed.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...
