Optimal Policies With Decreasing Probability of Imperfect Maintenance
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2005This study applies periodic preventive maintenance to three repair models: major repaired, minimal repaired, or fixed until perfect preventive maintenance upon failure. Two types of preventive maintenance are performed, namely imperfect preventive maintenance, and perfect preventive maintenance.

Optimal maintenance decisions under imperfect inspection
Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2005The process industry is increasingly making use of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) techniques to develop cost and/or safety optimal inspection plans. This paper proposes an adaptive Bayesian decision model to determine these optimal inspection plans under uncertain deterioration.

IMPERFECT PRODUCTION SYSTEMS WITH IMPERFECT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, INFLATION, AND TIME VALUE OF MONEY [PDF]
A model that integrates the issues of production, quality, maintenance, inspection, inflation, and time value of money is proposed in this paper. It is assumed that the production system starts in the in-control state producing items of high or perfect quality.

An Exact Method for Solving Selective Maintenance Problems Considering Imperfect Maintenance
2016 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems (INCoS), 2016In the past few decades, analytical models for maintenance optimization have been extensively investigated. As research continues, the cases considered during the mathematical modeling are much more practical, as well as complex, which brings many difficulties for solution. In this paper, we present an exact method for solving the selective maintenance

Selective maintenance optimization when quality of imperfect maintenance actions are stochastic
Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2016Abstract This paper addresses the selective maintenance optimization problem in a multi-component system, carrying out several missions with scheduled inter-mission breaks. To improve the probability of the system successfully completing the next mission, maintenance is performed on the system׳s components during the break. Each component is assigned

Imperfect repair models with preventive maintenance
Journal of Applied Probability, 2003Brown and Proschan (1983) introduced the imperfect repair model, in which an item, upon failure, is replaced with a new one with probability α, and is minimally repaired with probability 1 − α. In this paper we equip the imperfect repair model with preventive maintenance, and we obtain stochastic maintenance comparisons for the numbers of failures ...

Imperfect Preventive Maintenance Models
2000This chapter surveys the earlier results of imperfect preventive maintenance (pm) models which could be applied to actual systems; (i) the unit after pm has the same hazard rate as before pm, (ii) the age of the unit becomes x units of time younger at pm, and (iii) the age reduces to at when it was t before pm.

Selective Maintenance for Systems under Imperfect Maintenance Policy
2014Due to the advent of complex engineering systems in the last few decades, reliability and maintenance issues are gaining more attention than ever. Maintenance is important to keep a system running and ensure that it performs its functions satisfactorily. Often, there are limited resources to complete the maintenance of a system.

Maintenance optimization in failure-prone systems under imperfect preventive maintenance
Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, 2018In the majority of the existing preventive optimization models only costs related to maintenance actions are accounted for, while breakdown and operational costs are usually ignored. Liao et al. (J Intell Manuf 21(6):875–884, 2010) proposed a preventive maintenance model to deal with this shortcoming.

Maintenance policies under imperfect information
European Journal of Operational Research, 1980Abstract This paper presents a continuous time maintenance problem where deterioration is Markovian and the state of the system is not directly observable except by means of an inspection. The costs incurred are inspection costs, state occupancy costs and replacement costs. We examine the problem of minimizing the expected average cost per unit time.
