A predictive maintenance policy with imperfect monitoring

To reduce the occurrence of this event, it is necessary to implement a preventive maintenance policy to replace the critical elements before failure. Optimal lot-sizing problem with imperfect maintenance and imperfect production
International Journal of Systems Science, 2004In this paper, we develop an integrated model for the joint determination of both economic production quantity and level of preventive maintenance (PM) for an imperfect production process. This process has a general deterioration distribution with increasing hazard rate.

Imperfect Preventive-Maintenance

A special case of failure (hazard) rate improvement is postulated wherein pm reduces the failure rate, but does not return the time origin all the way to zero.
