Dynamic instability of imperfect laminated sandwich plates with in-plane partial edge load
Dynamic instability of laminated sandwich plates having inter-laminar imperfections with in-plane partial edge loading is studied for the first time using an efficient finite element plate model.

The fatigue strength of structural components is strongly affected by notches and imperfections. Both can be treated similarly, as local notch fatigue strength methods can also be applied to interior defects.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Identification with imperfect instruments [PDF]
Dealing with endogenous regressors is a central challenge of applied research. The standard solution is to use instrumental variables that are assumed to be uncorrelated with unobservables. We instead assume (i) the correlation between the instrument and the error term has the same sign as the correlation between the endogenous regressor and the error ...

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Tense morphology has been found to be cross-linguistically vulnerable in specific language impairment (SLI). Research on the development of aspect is rather limited and results are quite inconsistent; some studies suggest that aspect appears intact (Leonard et al. 2003), while others report severe deficits (Fletcher et al. 2005).

Imperfect homoclinic bifurcations [PDF]
Experimental observations of an almost symmetric electronic circuit show complicated sequences of bifurcations. These results are discussed in the light of a theory of imperfect global bifurcations. It is shown that much of the dynamics observed in the circuit can be understood by reference to imperfect homoclinic bifurcations without constructing an ...

A Method for the Coefficient Superposition Buckling Bearing Capacity of Thin-Walled Members
Axial compression tests were conducted on short rhombic tubes of different cross-sectional shapes. The deformation modes of the rhombic short tubes were obtained.

Wallace Stevens’s “Flawed Words and Stubborn Sounds”: Poeticizing the Imperfect?
Contradictions and paradoxes are characteristic features of Wallace Stevens’s poetry; these traits prompt judgments of him as a “difficult” poet and of his poems as all but approachable.
