How implicit is implicit learning?

1995
Abstract This chapter discusses the early demonstrations of implicit learning, which includes artificial grammar learning, sequence learning, control of complex systems, and the acquisition of invariant characteristics. Subsequent changes and the distinct properties of storage and retrieval of implicitly acquired knowledge are also ...

Implicit Incompressible SPH

IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2014
We propose a novel formulation of the projection method for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). We combine a symmetric SPH pressure force and an SPH discretization of the continuity equation to obtain a discretized form of the pressure Poisson equation (PPE). In contrast to previous projection schemes, our system does consider the actual computation

IMPLICIT EQUILIBRIUM DYNAMICS

Macroeconomic Dynamics, 2011
We discuss the problem known in economics as backward dynamics occurring in models of perfect foresight, intertemporal equilibrium described mathematically by implicit difference equations. In a previously published paper [Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control 31 (2007), 1633–1671], we showed that by means of certain mathematical methods and results

Implicit values:

2017
When it is said ‘what is the legacy of a project’, the response necessarily implies a values judgement, but such values are often implicit. In this work, ways of conceptualizing and evaluating legacies of community-university collaborations by starting from values are explored: specifically the human values of those individuals and organisations ...

Translating the implicit

2007
The subject of the study is how translators translate a text characterised by a high level of implicit semantic relations between sentences. Six MA translation students and five experienced translators translated a text from Spanish into Danish. The task was performed on a computer, and all keystrokes were logged with Translog.
