The importance of importance in OCD memory research [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, 2004
Investigations of memory and associated phenomena in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can advance our understanding of this often debilitating problem. Theoretical models predict both the presence and absence of memory biases in favour of threat-relevant information in association with anxiety disorders generally, and with OCD specifically.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Toxicological effects of the environmental pollutant perfluoronanoic acid on the ground-dwelling arthropod Solenopsis invicta

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA), widely employed in surfactants, coatings, plastics, corrosion inhibitors, and fire-extinguishing agents, is less regulated than PFOS or PFOA but displays higher bioaccumulation and potential toxicity.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.
