Effect of microwave heating on ph and termite resistance of Pinus roxburghii wood

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2018
This study investigated the effect of microwave treatment on wood pH and termite resistance. Pinus roxburghii heartwood was exposed to four different microwave intensities at 2450 MHz frequency for 5 minutes.

Microwave-assisted Impregnation of Zinc Metal Ions on Surface of Quenched Pulverized Shrimp Shell Waste

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology
This study evaluated the effects of microwave irradiation on the impregnation efficiency of zinc onto pulverized shrimp shell waste. Prior to impregnation, the pulverized shrimp shell was heat treated at 350, 450, and 550 oC for 1, 2 and 3 hours ...

Ce monde qui se soulève avec ma poitrine

open access: yesSocio-anthropologie, 2023
Our physiological connection with the air through respiration and olfaction creates a unique bond with the environment in which we live, marked by notable qualities such as porosity, penetration, and impregnation.

Effect of vacuum impregnation temperature on the mechanical properties and osmotic dehydration parameters of apples

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2008
The effect of sucrose solution temperature on the mechanical properties, water loss (WL), solids gain (SG) and weight reduction (WR) of apples (Fuji var.) treated by vacuum impregnation was studied.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Oxygen reduction in acid media: influence of the activity of CoNPc(1,2) bilayer deposits in relation to their attachment to the carbon black support and role of surface groups as a function of heat treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
O2 reduction was investigated using rotating disk electrode and voltammetry techniques on NPcCo(1,2) impregnations deposited onto two kinds of carbon black support.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Variables Affecting Impregnation during Kraft Pulping [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Introduction The purpose of this report was twofold. First, a pulping aid was evaluated for its effects on pulp properties. Then, the pulping aid was used in conjunction with a reduction in the times to temperature for several cooks, to see if the ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Optimization of the bi-oleothermal treatment process for wood preservation and fireproofing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The bi-oleothermal© process (combination of oil and heat treatment) is a well mastered alternative method for wood protection. However, the fire behavior and resistance to decay of bi-oleothermally treated wood are not good enough to ensure performance ...
