Beech wood treated with polyglycerol succinate: a new effective method for its protection and stabilization [PDF]
This paper deals with an original and non-biocidal chemical treatment consisting of a vacuum/pressure impregnation step of beech wood with a water-borne mixture made from heat-activated condensation of succinic anhydride (SA) and glycerol (G).

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Variables Affecting Impregnation during Kraft Pulping [PDF]
Introduction The purpose of this report was twofold. First, a pulping aid was evaluated for its effects on pulp properties. Then, the pulping aid was used in conjunction with a reduction in the times to temperature for several cooks, to see if the ...

On the impregnation of the ovum in the amphibia [PDF]
Abstract The author states that this communication to the Royal Society is part of a series of investigations on development, on which he has been for some years engaged, and which was commenced in a paper on that of the Myriapoda, published in 1841, in the Philosophical Transactions. The plan followed in these investigations has been

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Multi-tow shearing mechanism for high-speed manufacturing of variable angle tow composites [PDF]
An innovative tow steering technique using shear deformation characteristics of the dry tow material has been developed to minimize the process-induced defects by changing the most fundamental way of handling tow materials of all conventional AFP ...

Catalytic pyrolysis of impregnated biomass [PDF]
An innovative way of catalysis was tested for its potential to reduce the amount of hydrocarbons produced during pyrolysis of oak wood. The experiments were carried out in a horizontal tubular reactor fed with a controlled flowrate of Nitrogen and ...
