The impulse grounding impedance computation in HVDC transmission line tower

2013 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC), 2013
Electromagnetic field and circuit theory combined is applied to calculate the impulse grounding impedance in HVDC transmission line towers in this paper. The mutual inductance of conductor segments are taken into account. At the same time, the images of the self resistance and mutual inductance are considered for the different medium (soil and air ...

A new impulse grounding impedance detection device for transmission tower

2016 International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD), 2016
To obtain impulse impedance characteristics for grounding device of transmission tower, a small and portable instrument is developed. It can stable output the 8/20 µs and 10/350 µs standard lightning currents with simultaneous measurement of the response transient voltage waveshapes, which simulates the currents of direct and indirect lightning strikes,

Achievements in the Measurement of Tower-footing Impulse Impedance of Transmission Lines

2018 34th International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP), 2018
This paper presents results obtained from field measurements of tower-footing impulse impedance carried out in real transmission lines. Tests were performed using an impulsive voltage generator, measuring the ground potential rise and the impressed current to determine the impulsive grounding impedance.

Calculation of the voltage on earth impedance caused by lightning impulse current

Archiv für Elektrotechnik, 1988
In case of lightning stroke into a tower the impulse current behaviour of the ground is of great importance. A simplified model for estimation the lightning performance of grounding electrodes has been evaluated. Based on field theory the inductive character of the earthing impedance is explained.

Effective impedance spectra for predicting rough sea effects on atmospheric impulsive sounds

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
Two methods of calculating the effective impedance spectra of acoustically hard, randomly rough, two-dimensional surfaces valid for acoustic wavelengths large compared with the roughness scales have been explored. The first method uses the complex excess attenuation spectrum due to a point source above a rough boundary predicted by a boundary element ...

[Diurnal profile of impulse oscillometric impedance in healthy subjects].

Pneumologie (Stuttgart, Germany), 1997
Diurnal profiles of impulse oscillometry during 24 hours in 3 hour intervals in sitting and lateral lying position have been studied in 20 healthy female and male probands 10-67 years of age. Approximating the profiles by a sine-cosine-function the amplitude of resistance was found up to 3, that of reactance up to 1 hPa/l/s in single cases, preferably ...

Coronary input impedance during cardiac cycle as determined by impulse response method

American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1987
The coronary arterial system was characterized by its input impedance determined in systole and diastole from impulse response functions in five dogs. The impulse response technique was verified on a known hydraulic system. A second confirmation was obtained on the circumflex artery: reflected pulses were correlated with site of reflections generated ...

A High-Impedance, Nanosecond Rise Time Probe for Measuring High-Voltage Impulses

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1968
Normal voltage dividers for high-voltage impulses are connected to the test object by an open air line which, when considered as part of the measuring system, gives an initially low input impedance to that measuring system due to the characteristic impedance of the line.
