Wide-band modelling of tower-footing grounding systems based on the impulse response measurement [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Radova: Elektrotehnički Institut "Nikola Tesla", 2019
The tower footing grounding system is of major importance for analysis of the lightning overvoltages on an overhead transmission line during backflashover and shielding failure.

Analysis of sensor impulse response effects on Cramèr–Rao lower bounds for signal parameter estimators

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2014
In this study, a generic analysis of sensor impulse response effects on linearly filtered channel noise is presented to illustrate the resulting variations to the Cramèr–Rao lower bounds (CRLBs) of signal parameter estimators in signal processing and ...

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Impulse Response Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Impulse response functions are useful for studying the interactions between variables in a vector autoregressive model. They represent the reactions of the variables to shocks hitting the system. It is often not clear, however, which shocks are relevant for studying specific economic problems.

Closed-form critical earthquake response of elastic-plastic structures on compliant ground under near-fault ground motions

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2016
The double impulse is introduced as a substitute of the fling-step near-fault ground motion. A closed-form solution of the elastic-plastic response of a structure on compliant (flexible) ground by the ‘critical double impulse’ is derived for the first ...

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.
