Impulse-based Control of an Impulsive Haptic Interface
Second Joint EuroHaptics Conference and Symposium on Haptic Interfaces for Virtual Environment and Teleoperator Systems (WHC'07), 2007In a previous paper, the authors presented the first haptic display capable of applying directly an impulse to its operator. The resulting immediate change in momentum is considered invaluable to make interactions with rigid virtual objects feel realistic. The size of the impulse is controlled by adapting the amount of momentum of a momentum wheel.
