Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY OF STUDENTS WITH COGNITIVE IMPULSION STYLE BASED ON SOLO TAXONOMY

open access: yesJournal of Honai Math, 2021
The problem-solving ability between reflective and impulsive subjects from several studies shows that reflective subjects are always superior than impulsive subjects. The purpose of this study was to identificate and to describe students' problem-solving

Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

Intelligent Maintenance Review for Robots: Multimodal Information, Deep Diagnosis and Embodied Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review maps the methods to monitor robots’ health by fusing vibration, sound, control signals, vision, force, and oil information with artificial intelligence. It identifies deep learning, transfer learning, digital twins, and physics‐informed models as key methodological pathways enabling earlier diagnosis, safer human–robot collaboration, and ...

Bifurcation Analysis and Application for Impulsive Systems with Delayed Impulses [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2017
In this article, we present a systematic approach to bifurcation analysis of impulsive systems with autonomous or periodic right-hand sides that may exhibit delayed impulse terms. Methods include Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction and center manifold reduction.

Self‐Powered Bearing Sensing and Real‐Time Fault Diagnosis Enabled by Non‐Invasive Triboelectric Sensors and Edge AI Acceleration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves the synergistic integration of self‐powered sensing and edge AI acceleration to establish a real‐time fault diagnosis system. The proposed TENG‐based self‐powered bearing sensor (NSE‐TBS) and FPGA‐accelerated edge AI framework fundamentally break through the inherent limitations of conventional monitoring systems, including complex ...

Impulsivity and Decision Making [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 2005
The purpose of the present study was to explore the links among the four facets of impulsivity (urgency, lack of premeditation, lack of perseverance, and sensation seeking) proposed by and decision-making processes. Thirty undergraduate students completed a self-report questionnaire evaluating impulsivity as well as a task measuring decision-making ...

Bending‐Induced Vibrational Landscape Reorganization Governs Energy Dissipation in Perylene Bisimides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Gradually bent perylene bisimides (PBIs) isolate structural distortion as the sole variable and exhibit negligible intersystem crossing, uncovering rapid vibrational dephasing as the dominant driver of internal conversion through excited‐state vibrational landscape reorganization.

Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.

The Archival Impulse and the Editorial Impulse [PDF]

open access: yesVariants, 2019
There is no firm, outside vantage-point from which to survey and thus to define archive and edition as securely differentiated categories. As readers we inhabit the same textual field as the approaches to documents and texts that we seek to define. To record is first to read and analyse sufficiently for the archival purpose; to interpret is first to ...
