Impurities in alfalfa seed and their impact on processing technology
The aim of this research was to determine relevant parameters and optimal alfalfa seed processing technology by a comparative analysis of two systems of machinery for processing natural alfalfa seed of different purity (59.0% and 71.0%) and with different content of impurities. The relevant parameters monitored during the test were: pure seed (%), weed

Polycrystalline tungsten (W) and four kinds of tungsten alloys were exposed to pure and impurities seeding deuterium (D) plasma to investigate the deuterium retention behaviour. The results show that D retention in W increases with the increasing fluence

Modeling and experimental investigation of the distribution of seeded impurities and their influence on divertor detachment in all-metal tokamaks is critical for developing reactor-scale exhaust scenarios. In this work, the degree and operating space for

Mitigating tungsten (W) wall erosion and core accumulation are vitally important for the steady-state operation of tokamaks. It is well known that drifts have a great impact on the transport of charged particles in the edge region, which could affect W ...

Experimental research on the deeply detached X-point radiator regime on EAST
Radiative divertor detachment with impurity seeding is considered one of the most promising means for mitigating particle and heat fluxes on the divertor target.

Enrichment of impurities seeded for exhaust control in a spherical tokamak power plant geometry
Through SOLPS-ITER simulations, we have investigated the ability of seeded argon and neon impurities to effectively control divertor power loading in a power-plant-class spherical tokamak geometry.

Impact of seeded plasma impurities on D retention in RAFM steels
The effect of He seeding (He+ ion fraction, cHe+, of ~5 and ~10%) to D plasma (ion flux ~ 1.5–2 × 1021 m−2s−1, sample temperature ~ 373 K, and incident ion energy ~ 100 eV) on D retention in various reduced-activation ferritic/martensitic (RAFM) steels ...

Impurity-free seeded crystallization of amorphous silicon by nanoindentation
We demonstrate that nanoindents formed in amorphous Si films, with dimensions as small as ∼20 nm, provide a means to seed solid phase crystallization. During post-indentation annealing at ∼600 °C, solid phase crystallization initiates from the indented sites, effectively removing the incubation time for random nucleation in the absence of seeds.

Divertor enrichment of recycling impurity species (He, N2, Ne, Ar, Kr) in ASDEX Upgrade H-modes
Particle balance calculations are done for the seeding species N _2 , Ne, Ar, Kr as well as He with the aim of obtaining a realistic description of the divertor and core plasma impurity content.

Effects of divertor geometry on detachment and core plasma performance with impurity seeding in EAST
Divertor detachment operation compatible with the core plasma is an effective method to alleviate the steady-state heat flux approaching the divertor target; this scheme will be adopted by high-performance tokamaks in the future, such as International ...
