Beyond Upper Airway Involvement: Evidence of Intrinsic Lung Disease in a Mouse Model of Mucopolysaccharidosis I

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Almost all patients with mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) develop respiratory dysfunction of varying severity during disease progression. While respiratory disease in MPS has traditionally been attributed to upper airway obstruction caused by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) accumulation in the trachea and bronchi, involvement of the intrapulmonary ...

Structural Design and Analysis of Adaptive Pipe Diameter Full Drive Pipeline Robots

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2023
Aiming at the problem that the internal condition of the pipeline can not pass the manual inspection after the completion of welding, a pipeline robot which can independently inspect the welded pipeline is proposed.

Simulation‐Informed Evaluation of Microvascular Parameter Mapping for Diffusion MR Imaging of Solid Tumours

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 387-402, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose We aim to inform the design of new diffusion MRI (dMRI) approaches for microvasculature quantification that enhance the biological specificity of imaging towards cancer. Methods We adopted simulation‐informed modelling of the vascular dMRI signal. We synthesised signals from 1500 synthetic vascular networks, for a variety of protocols (

The Magnetic Mineralogy of Carbonaceous Chondrites: A Microscopy and Machine Learning Study of Meteorite WIS 91600

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract A central challenge in the paleomagnetic study of meteorites is to characterize their diverse remanence carriers. Here, we develop a machine‐learning assisted workflow that combines multi‐scale (mm to nm) and multi‐dimensional (2D‐3D) microscopy to build a comprehensive picture of ferromagnetic mineralogy in the C2 ungrouped carbonaceous ...

Integrating Megabarcoding and Metabarcoding to Unlock Diversity and Distribution Data Shortfalls in Dark Taxa

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 5, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Persistent biodiversity data shortfalls undermine our capacity to detect species, map their distributions and characterize their spatial genetic structure, limiting robust biogeographic analyses and the development of effective conservation strategies.

Development of an Adaptive Pipe Inspection Robot with Rust Detection

open access: yes, 2018
In response to addressing the issue of pipe quality checking, the researchers developed an adaptive in-pipe inspection robot that is able to detect rust. The robot is traversed in a pipe network of horizontal, vertical, elbow, and tee type with diameters

Do robots boost productivity? A quantitative meta‐study

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 1531-1571, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This meta‐study analyzes the productivity effects of industrial robots. More than 1800 estimates from 85 primary studies are collected. The meta‐analytic evidence suggests that robotization has so far provided, at best, a small boost to productivity. There is strong evidence of publication bias in the positive direction.

Development of a Low Cost Small Sized In-Pipe Robot

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis reports the process of design and development of a low cost small sized in-pipe inspection robot. Problem of a pipe inspection operation surfaces when the robot only has a limited coverage of the inner surfaces of the pipe.
