Proximity‐Tuned Magnetic and Transport Anomalies in All‐Epitaxial Fe5−xGeTe2/WSe2 Van der Waals Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐epitaxial and scalable ferromagnetic/non‐magnetic Fe5−xGeTe2/WSe2 van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures exhibiting room‐temperature magnetism and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) are realized. The system displays proximity‐tuned magnetic anisotropy, thickness‐dependent unconventional Hall effects, and temperature‐dependent sign reversal of ...

Switching Superconductivity with Uniaxial Strain in a high‐Tc${\rm T}_{c}$ Cuprate Superconductor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniaxial strain is demonstrated as a new scheme for a superconductivity switch. Exploiting the large strain‐induced Tc shift in a cuprate superconductor enables robust switching between superconducting and normal states over 100 cycles with only 0.1% strain.

Bistable Isochoric Chiral Metamaterials with Reprogrammable Multiaxial Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An isochoric bistable rotational unit cell enables in situ modification of internal contact conditions post‐fabrication, without altering the global envelope dimensions of the surrounding architecture. By selectively switching between open and closed states, the tessellated chiral metamaterial can reprogram its volumetric response, including bulk ...

In Situ Interfacial Assembly of Dynamic Semi‐Interpenetrating Biopolymer Networks for Robust and Mechanically Adaptive Droplet Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dynamic interfacial semi‐interpenetrating polymer network is constructed by sequential assembly of β‐sheet‐rich SF and CS‐RL. The SF framework provides mechanical strength, while dynamically associated CS‐RL enables local rearrangement, allowing droplets to rapidly reconfigure without loss of interfacial integrity.

In Situ Measurement of the Cooper Minimum in Argon

open access: yesConference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2021
We simulate a collinear two-color attosecond in situ measurement in argon and show that in situ techniques measure a variation of the electron group delay around the Cooper minimum.

In-situ Precipitation Measurements

2021
This chapter describes the measuring principles and technological solutions available for in-situ measurements of liquid (rain) and solid (snow) atmospheric precipitation. They can be classified into catching and non-catching precipitation gauges. Instruments belonging to the first family are generally based on gravity-related measuring principles ...

Measurement of In Situ Hybridization

Current Protocols in Molecular Biology, 2000
AbstractHybridization of labeled specific molecular probes to nucleic acids in tissues allows geometric and functional location of gene expression or of foreign genome sequences. Estimates of amounts and location of target nucleic acid sequence can be made with phosphor storage imaging and molecular controls.

In Situ Bubblepoint Measurement

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2022
Abstract Representative fluid properties are required for a wide range of field life aspects such as initial sizing of reservoir hydrocarbon reserves and production planning. Fluid properties are routinely obtained from laboratory sample analysis, but some fluid properties can also be measured in situ with formation testers.

In situ measurement of permeability

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009
Permeability of a porous material with a fluid interface is shown to be related to the propagation of the slow longitudinal wave. The propagation threshold of the slow longitudinal wave occurs when the wave number is higher than the critical wave number, kcr. Measuring kcr can provide the intrinsic permeability of a porous interface.

In Situ Measurements of Cosmic Dust

2001
In-situ measurements of cosmic dust provide information on the spatial and orbital distributions, and on the physical and chemical properties of dust in interplanetary space. Pioneers 8 through 11, Helios, Galileo and Ulysses spaceprobes measured interplanetary dust from 0.3 to 18 AU distance from the Sun.
