Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Research on In Situ Stress Measurement Based on the Combined Method of DIC and Drilling Stress Relief

open access: yesBuildings
Existing structural stress is an important parameter for evaluating the current state of a structure. In order to improve the accuracy of in situ stress measurement in the field, this paper proposes an in situ stress measurement method for existing ...

In situ observation of strain and phase transformation in plastically deformed 301 austenitic stainless steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
To inform the design of superior transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) steels, it is important to understand what happens at the microstructural length scales.

A theory of rock core-based methods for in-situ stress measurement

open access: yes, 2009
The behavior of the inelastic strain of rocks under the loading of compression reflects the history of stresses applied to the rocks. A number of methods based on this rock property of stress memory have been proposed for measuring in-situ stress.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Research on the correction method of hydraulic fracturing in-situ stress testing based on MLP-KFold [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems
Hydraulic fracturing serves as a critical in-situ stress testing technique, where the accurate determination of rock fracture pressure and closure pressure in fracturing intervals is essential for precise in-situ stress estimation.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

In-situ stress conditions at Nankai Trough, Site 808 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Shipboard laboratory index property data, shore-based consolidation tests, and in-situ stress and pore-pressure measurements are used in this study to constrain the stress conditions at ODP Site 808, Nankai Trough.

Real-time depth sectioning: Isolating the effect of stress on structure development in pressure-driven flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Transient structure development at a specific distance from the channel wall in a pressure-driven flow is obtained from a set of real-time measurements that integrate contributions throughout the thickness of a rectangular channel. This “depth sectioning

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...
