In-situ observation of MOVPE epitaxial growth
Applied Physics A: Materials Science & Processing, 2002Metal organic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE) is nowadays one of the leading techniques for epitaxial growth. While the processes in the gas phase of MOVPE are reasonably well understood, the processes on the growing surface are not. This situation is in contrast to molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), where considerable knowledge about growth processes on the ...

In-situ Ellipsometry During Thin Film Growth
Microphysics of Surfaces, Beams and Adsorbates, 1989Applications of real time ellipsometry in elucidating the nucleation, growth, microstructural evolution, and surface modification of thin film hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H)-based materials will be discussed. The reactive, high pressure environment of rf plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) and the disordered structure of a-Si:H ...

Single Gold Nanoparticle Growth Monitored in situ
2012The novel fastSPS setup is used to study the growth process of rodshaped gold nanoparticles in the presence of surfactant molecules. It is observed that the particles grow mainly in the direction of the short rod axis, resulting in a decrease of the aspect ratio.

In situ study of nano-chrysotile growth
2012In the past decades, the extraordinary properties of asbestos fibres (heat resistance, non-combustibility, unusual tensile strength and resistance to selective chemical attack) favoured chrysotile to be widely used in practical industrial applications .
