Synthesis of Single-Phase YMn2D2 Studied by in situ Neutron Diffraction

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 2000
Abstract Hydrogen absorption at room temperature in YMn 2 leads to a mixture of several phases with various hydrogen contents. A thermal treatment at 473 K allows single-phase YMn 2 H x hydrides with 0 x ≤3.5 to be obtained. The hydride synthesis has been studied in the case of single-phase YMn 2 D 2 by in situ thermal-dependent neutron ...

In situ neutron powder diffraction studies of lithium-ion batteries

Journal of Solid State Electrochemistry, 2011
Neutron powder diffraction (NPD) offers many advantages in the analysis of battery materials. Understanding the relationship between the structural transformations of electrode materials and their electrochemical performance within lithium-ion batteries is crucial for further development of these technologies and is the overall goal of in situ NPD ...

In-Situ Neutron Diffraction Study of Aging in Alloy ZK60A

2014
The effect of c-axis rod-shaped precipitates on the individual deformation mechanisms of extruded magnesium alloy, ZK60A, are examined using in-situ tension and compression testing of solutionized, under-aged, peak-aged, and over-aged material. The results reemphasize that alloy ZK60A exhibits only a modest aging response.
