Sulfur, fresh cassava root and urea independently enhanced gas production, ruminal characteristics and in vitro degradability [PDF]
Background Total fresh cassava root (FCR) production was 275 million tonnes in 2018 which equals 61.1 % of the total production, and Thailand produced 10.7 % FCR of the total production. FCR is one of the main energy source for ruminant.

Potential of carvacrol to modify in vitro rumen fermentation as compared with monensin
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of carvacrol supplement as a dietary additive to rumen fermentors, fed a barley seed:alfalfa hay (70:30) ration and to compare its effect with monensin supplementation.

In vitro rumen feed degradability assessed with DaisyII and batch culture: effect of sample size
In vitro degradability with DaisyII (D) equipment is commonly performed with 0.5g of feed sample into each filter bag. Literature reported that a reduction of the ratio of sample size to bag surface could facilitate the release of soluble or fine ...

In vitro and in vivo studies on the degradation of metallothionein.
Degradation of metallothionein (MT) from rat liver was examined. Degradation of apo-MT by liver homogenate was greater than that by cytosol. At pH 5.5, degradation by homogenate was more than that at pH 7.2. These findings suggest that proteases that function at acidic pH are probably involved in MT degradation.

Precision and accuracy of the NDF rumen degradability of hays measured by the Daisy fermenter
An inventory of 162 hay samples from Austrian permanent grasslands was used to obtain information about the precision of the in vitro NDF degradability (NDFd) measured by the Daisy fermenter and its accuracy to predict in situ NDFd.
