AbstractDibenzoazecines are a class of potential neuroleptics with high affinity to dopamine and serotonin receptors. The efficacy and high therapeutic range has already been demonstrated in vivo with the lead structure 7-methyl-5,6,7,8,9,14-hexahydrodibenzo[d,g]azecin-3-ol (LE404) and selected derivatives.

Comparison of rate of Hepatic Metabolismin vitroand Half-Life for Antipyrinein vivoin Three Species
Xenobiotica, 19791. A radiometric assay for the total metabolism of antipyrine in vitro by hepatic microsomal preparations has been developed. 2. Apparent Km and V values for the process were determined in rats, rabbits and in a marsupial (the quokka; Setomix brachyurus).

From a DNA-directed cell-free system, functional gal mRNA is obtained which directs the cell-free synthesis of the three galactose enzymes of Escherichia coli. A substantial fraction of this gal mRNA has the properties of a polycistronic messenger.

The biological effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation (EMF) are of high importance in biological and health studies. This study aimed to find out these effects on the structure and function of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH). The rhGH was exposed to uniform mobile phone 940-MHz EMFs for 45 min and then characterized by circular ...

In vitro half-life of 14-C-tryptamine in whole blood of drug-free chronic schizophrenic patients
American Journal of Psychiatry, 1977The authors found higher in vitro 14C-tryptamine half-lives in the blood of 10 drug-free chronic schizophrenic patients than in the blood of 13 mentally normal control subjects. This finding was negatively correlated for both groups with platelet MAO activity.

Lipid-based drug delivery systems are widely used for enhancing the solubility of poorly water soluble drugs in the gastro-intestinal tract. Following oral intake, lipid systems undergo digestion in the stomach as well as the intestine. Lipolysis is here a complex process at the oil/water interface, influenced by numerous factors. To study the ...

In vitro combined haemostatic efficacy of emicizumab and extended half‐life factor VIII compounds
HaemophiliaAbstract Introduction Early prophylaxis is the gold standard of care for severe haemophilia. The development of subcutaneous Factor VIII (FVIII) mimetics, such as emicizumab, has significantly reduced the disease burden and improved protection against bleeding episodes.

Background: Microbial L-asparaginase (L-ASNase, EC 3.5.1.1) is a pivotal biopharmaceutical drug-protein that catalyzes the hydrolysis of the non-essential amino acid L-asparagine (L-Asn) into L-aspartic acid (L-Asp) and ammonia , resulting in deplenishing the cellular L-Asn pool, which leads to the ultimate death of the L-asparagine synthetase (L-ASNS)

An increase in half-life of antipyrine and a decrease in the metabolic capacity of microsomes were observed in rats 4 and 6 days after the in vivo gamma-irradiation. A correlation was noted between the in vivo half-life of antipyrine and the in vitro microsomal data.
