Phase I/II Prospective Study on Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Hepaticogastrostomy as Primary Drainage for Unresectable Malignant Hilar Biliary Obstruction

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, April 2027.
ABSTRACT Objectives Various drainage methods have been used for unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction (MHBO). However, controlling cholangitis and obstructive jaundice is still challenging. We performed a phase I/II study of endoscopic ultrasound‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS‐HGS) as primary drainage for MHBO.

Initial Experience With Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Gallbladder Drainage Using Lumen‐apposing Metal Stents in Extremely Elderly and Frail Patients

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, April 2027.
ABSTRACT Objectives Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided gallbladder drainage (EUS‐GBD) using lumen‐apposing metal stents (LAMS) is a treatment option for acute cholecystitis in high‐risk surgical patients. However, data on extremely elderly and frail patients are limited. We report our initial experience with EUS‐GBD using electrocautery‐enhanced LAMS in this

Comparison of Machine Learning Classifiers for Predicting Reported Antibiotic Treatment After Recent Fever/Cough Among Under‐Five Children: A Pooled Analysis of DHS Data From 64 LMICs

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 4, December 2026.
Using pooled Demographic and Health Survey data from 64 LMICs, six machine learning and logistic regression models showed only modest ability to predict caregiver‐reported antibiotic treatment after childhood fever or cough. No model performed best across all metrics, supporting cautious interpretation and further external validation.
