Closed‐Loop AI Systems for Arrhythmia Management: Toward Predictive, Personalized, and Safe Cardiac Care

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 9, September 2026.
This review reframes arrhythmia AI around the control loop and its safety constraints, not accuracy alone. Randomized device‐programming trials supply the principles (conservative timing, hierarchical escalation, bounded actuation) that closed‐loop AI must inherit.

Inappropriate S-ICD Shock Related to Reel Syndrome

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports
Lead dislodgment is an uncommon complication following subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator insertion. We report a case of Reel syndrome occurring 1 month after subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator insertion in a 37-year-old male patient with no known risk factors for lead macrodislodgment.

Prior Authorization for Sacral Nerve Stimulation in the Era of WISeR: Evaluation of U.S. Payer Coverage Policies

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, Volume 45, Issue 7, Page 1280-1293, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) is an established therapy for refractory urinary incontinence, yet the 2025 Wasteful and Inappropriate Service Reduction Model (WISeR) designated it as requiring mandatory prior authorization. No analysis has examined how U.S.

Efficacy of Additional Amiodarone Therapy in Patients with an Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2010
Introduction: We examined whether the additional use of amiodarone (AMD) under implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapy may have beneficial effects in patients at risk for lethal ventricular arrhythmias with structural heart diseases. Methods:

Influence of diabetes on mortality and ICD therapies in ICD recipients: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 162,780 patients

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2022
Background The influence of diabetes on the mortality and risk of implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) therapies is still controversial, and a comprehensive assessment is lacking.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, emotional processing and Inappropriate Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator Shocks: clinical consideration by a single case report

open access: yesMonaldi Archives for Chest Disease, 2015
Introduction. Even though an overwhelming amount of evidence supports the clinical efficacy and safety of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), inappropriate shocks for atrial arrhythmias with rapid ventricular conduction or for abnormal ...

Factors influencing the status of appropriate and inappropriate shocks delivered by an implantable cardioverter defibrillator

open access: yesمجله دانشگاه علوم پزشکی بیرجند, 2013
Background and Aim: The QRS duration is a strong predictor of mortality, particularly in heart failure patients. However, studies on the usefulness of QRS duration, as a predictor of ventricular arrhythmic events in ICD patients, have proved to be ...

Long‐Term Serial Exercise Stress Testing in Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia on Beta‐Blocker and Flecainide Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 9, Page 1939-1946, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a potentially life‐threatening arrhythmic disorder typically treated with beta‐blockers and, occasionally, with flecainide. Methods All patients underwent genetic testing, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and exercise testing.
