Calculation of the inbreeding coefficient
Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1988Wright's rule for calculating the inbreeding coefficient for an arbitrary pedigree is proven for both autosomal and X-linked loci.

The estimation of inbreeding from isonymy: relationship to the average inbreeding coefficient
Annals of Human Genetics, 1984SummaryThe inbreeding coefficient estimated by the isonymy method is often much larger than the average inbreeding coefficient (FD). One reason commonly stated is that the surnames are polyphyletic in origin in such cases. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between the inbreeding calculated from isonymy and the average inbreeding ...

The relationship between inbreeding depression and inbreeding coefficient (F) for several important traits was investigated in an 11-year trial of maritime pine (Pinus pinaster). Five levels of inbreeding (F=0; 0.125; 0.25; 0.5; 0.75) were obtained in a mating design involving ten plus-trees, or their progenies, as parents (total of 51 families). For F=

Studies on Inbreeding. V. Inbreeding and Relationship Coefficients
The American Naturalist, 1914The object of this paper is to call attention to the fact that inbreeding of considerable degree may exist in the entire absence of any kinship between the two individuals bred together, and to bring forward a method of separately measuring what proportion of the observed inbreeding in a particular case is due to kinship of the parents, and what to ...

401: The Calculation of Inbreeding Coefficients
Biometrics, 1975A computer program has been written which will calculate the inbreeding coefficients in any irregular or regular mating system. This program has the following advantages: (a) it lists all common ancestors and their contribution to the inbreeding coefficient of the individual being studied, which allows a complete pedigree analysis; (b) the inbreeding ...

Transformation of generalized inbreeding coefficient in components of pedigree
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1966Abstract Generalization of inbreeding coefficient and coefficient of parentage with an arbitrary number of linked loci is presented. Transformation relations between those generalized quantities are obtained for simple components of pedigree. With those relations we can construct transformation formulae for more complicated pedigrees.
