Effects of scoparone on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease revealed by RNA sequencing
Scoparone (SCO) is known to have curative effect of alleviating liver injury. The purpose of this study was to observe the therapeutic effect and possible mechanism of SCO against high-fat diet (HFD) induced non-alcoholic liver disease (NAFLD) through in

Predicting the long-term impact of antiretroviral therapy scale-up on population incidence of tuberculosis. [PDF]
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of antiretroviral therapy (ART) on long-term population-level tuberculosis disease (TB) incidence in sub-Saharan Africa. METHODS: We used a mathematical model to consider the effect of different assumptions about life

Scharnhorst effect at oblique incidence [PDF]
We consider the Scharnhorst effect (anomalous photon propagation in the Casimir vacuum) at oblique incidence, calculating both photon speed and polarization states as functions of angle.

We show that any finite set S in a characteristic zero integral domain can be mapped to the finite field of order p, for infinitely many primes p, preserving all algebraic incidences in S. This can be seen as a generalization of the well-known Freiman isomorphism lemma, and we give several combinatorial applications (such as sum-product estimates).
