Data on the angular characteristics of the spiral structure of the narwhal tusk

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
We studied morphometric features of the spiral structure of the narwhal tusk and show that angular parameters of the arcs of the cementum layer determine the pattern of the spiral structure of the tusk.

Effects of gas slugs and inclination angle on the ultrafiltration flux in tubular membrane module

open access: yes, 2009
The permeate fluxes of an inclined gas-slugs ultrafiltration system were measured and discussed under various gas-liquid flow ratios and inclination angles.

Asteroseismic measurement of the inclination angle: characterizing exoplanetary systems

open access: yes, 2021
Information on stellar inclinations are of prime importance to characterize the formation and dynamics of transiting exoplanetary systems, by helping to constrain the angle between the stellar spin axis and the planetary orbit axis, namely the obliquity.

A laboratory study of solid-water mixture flow head losses through pipelines at different slopes and solid concentrations

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2020
Head loss through pipelines is considered as one of the most important parameters for designing the fluid flow and determining the necessary pump horsepower. The solid concentration and pipe inclination affect solid-water mixture head losses. The present

Parametric study on the effects of pile inclination angle on the response of batter piles in offshore jacket platforms

open access: yes, 2016
Offshore jacket-type platforms are attached to the seabed by long batter piles. In this paper, results from a finite element analysis, verified against experimental data, are used to study the effect of the pile’s inclination angle, and its interaction ...

Aspects of Using Tool Axis Inclination Angle

open access: yesStrojniški vestnik – Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2011
This contribution deals with the research and proposal to change a position of tool axis against milled surface during multi-axial milling. Our target is achieving an increase in milling efficiency (improvement of functional surface properties, increase in milling accuracy, increase in tool durability, decrease in energy load on a machine, and ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
