Simulating and modeling CO2 flux emitted from decomposed oil palm root cultivated at tropical peatland as affected by water content and residence time

open access: yesJournal of Degraded and Mining Lands Management, 2022
Determining the oil palm dead roots contribution to total (Rt) and heterotrophic (Rh) respiration as a source of greenhouse gas/GHG emission in tropical peatland is urgently required, as well as predicting their magnitude to cope with difficulties of ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Optimization of Fruiting Body Production of Three Kinds Edible Mushrooms Species by Innovate the Incubation Time and Number of Rips on Baglog

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Kehutanan, 2019
In Indonesia the demand for edible mushroom, both for medicine and food, continues to increase. Production acceleration is needed to meet the market needs. This study aims to determine the effect of the incubation time and the number of rips on baglog to

Effects of incubation temperature, starter culture level and total solids content on the rheological properties of yogurt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The effects of incubation temperature (35-45oC), starter culture level (0.003-0.006%, w/v), and milk total solids content (12.32-15.68%, w/v) on the rheological properties of yogurt were investigated using central composite rotatable design (CCRD) and ...

Species Diversity Induces Idiosyncratic Effects on Litter Decomposition in a Degraded Meadow Steppe

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2021
Litter decomposition is a fundamental path for nutrient cycling in a natural ecosystem. However, it remains unclear how species diversity, including richness and evenness, affects the decomposition dynamics in the context of grassland degradation.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Reverberation time measurements of a neonatal incubator

open access: yesApplied Acoustics, 2020
Abstract New-borns are exposed to high noise levels inside infant incubators. Some authors suggest that these noise levels are amplified by the reverberant nature of the materials that compose incubators. In this paper, the impulse response and the reverberation time of an incubator with standard dimensions were calculated.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
