Analysis of Benzoate 1,2‐Dioxygenase Identifies Shared Electron Transfer Components With DxnA1A2 in Rhizorhabdus wittichii RW1

open access: yesJournal of Basic Microbiology, Volume 65, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Rhizorhabdus wittichii RW1 is known for its ability to degrade polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, such as dibenzo‐p‐dioxin (DD) and dibenzofuran (DF). We hypothesized that the R. wittichii RW1 benzoate 1,2‐dioxygenase shares electron transfer components with the DD/DF angular dioxygenase (DxnA1A2), similar to many aromatic hydrocarbon degrading

Rearrangement of beta,gamma-unsaturated esters with thallium trinitrate: synthesis of indans bearing a beta-keto ester moiety

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2006
The rearrangement of beta,gamma-unsaturated esters, such as 2-(3,4-dihydronaphthalen-1-yl)-propionic acid ethyl ester, with thallium trinitrate (TTN) in acetic acid leads to 3-indan-1-yl-2-methyl-3-oxo-propionic acid ethyl ester in good yield, through a ...

Recent advances in the structure, function and regulation of the volume‐regulated anion channels and their role in immunity

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 603, Issue 15, Page 4255-4291, 1 August 2025.
Abstract figure legend The volume‐regulated anion channel (VRAC), composed of leucine‐rich repeat‐containing 8 (LRRC8) proteins, serves both canonical and non‐canonical functions in vertebrate cells. The canonical function of this channel relates to its original description, which is homeostatic regulation of cell volume in response to hypotonic ...

Research progress of donepezil for treating mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2017
Donepezil is the second generation of cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs), which has a good effect on mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD). In recent years, there were a lot of studies on the mechanism of donepezil. This paper mainly introduces the

Tuning NIR Absorption and Emission of Diphenyl‐Dihydrophenazine‐Based Merocyanines with Ultra Narrow Band Gap

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 42, July 25, 2025.
Novel merocyanine derivatives with a strong diphenyl‐dihydrophenazine donor and a series of strong electron acceptors were developed. The indanone and indandione acceptor units were modified by dicyanovinylene groups to tune acceptor strength. Among these derivatives, DPPZ‐IDD realized an ultranarrow electrochemical gap of 0.93 eV and an optical band ...

Hochgradig enantioselektive Organokatalyse mit zweizähnigen Halogenbrückendonoren

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 30, July 21, 2025.

Highly Enantioselective Organocatalysis with Bidentate Halogen Bond Donors

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 64, Issue 30, July 21, 2025.
In a model Mukaiyama aldol reaction with unbiased substrates, high enantioselectivity was achieved with a modifiable bidentate iodine(I)‐based halogen bonding organocatalyst. The crucial role of halogen bonding was confirmed by the low performance of the corresponding hydrogen bond donor and via DFT calculations.

Examining the regulatory value of multi-route mammalian acute systemic toxicity studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Regulatory information requirements for pesticides call for submission of acute systemic toxicity data for up to three different exposure routes (oral, dermal, inhalation) for both active ingredients and formulated products.
