“Time Is Brain” – for Cell Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The concept that “time is brain” extends to stem cell therapy for stroke. Evidence across preclinical and clinical studies indicates that delivery timing shapes graft survival, integration, and efficacy by matching the evolving post‐stroke microenvironment.

Donaldson-Witten theory and indefinite theta functions

open access: yes, 2017
We consider partition functions with insertions of surface operators of topologically twisted N=2, SU(2) supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, or Donaldson-Witten theory for short, on a four-manifold.

Eigenvalues of the p-Laplacian in fractal strings with indefinite weights

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2005
The asymptotic behavior of the spectral counting function is studied for the boundary value problem \[ -(\psi_p(u'))'=\lambda r(x)\psi_p(u),\; x\in\Omega, \] with Dirichlet boundary conditions, where \(\Omega\) is a bounded open set in \({\mathbb R}\), \(p>1\), \(\lambda\) is a real spectral parameter, \(\psi_p(s)=| s| ^{p-2}s\), and the weight \(r ...

Bounds on the non-real spectrum of differential operators with indefinite weights [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Ordinary and partial differential operators with an indefinite weight function can be viewed as bounded perturbations of non-negative operators in Krein spaces.

Borcherds Products for U(1,1)

open access: yes, 2013
The Borcherds lift for indefinite unitary groups, previously constructed by the author, is examined here in greater detail for the special case of the group U(1,1).

Rethinking Power Solutions for Healthcare Wearables: From Point‐of‐Care and Episodic use to Continuous Monitoring and Therapeutic Platforms

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
This Perspective examines practical power solutions for wearable healthcare systems, highlighting the limits of standard batteries. It categorizes wearables into four domains—point‐of‐care diagnostics, episodic monitoring, continuous long‐term monitoring, and therapeutic platforms—and analyzes their power needs.

Memristive Chaotic Circuit for Information Processing Through Time

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A chaotic circuit that exploits the nonlinear characteristics of a memristive device is realized in hardware. The circuit response evolves through simple periodic, multiperiod, and chaotic regimes. The circuit also displays fading memory property. Finally, the circuit is used in a reservoir computing architecture to demonstrate nonlinear classification

A Novel Contact‐Implicit Trajectory Optimization Framework for Quadruped Locomotion without Fixed Contact Sequences

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Legged robots have advanced in environmental interaction through contact, but most works rely on fixed contact sequences. This work presents a new method based on an indirect optimization method for legged robots to automatically generate contact sequences for complex movements.
