Pharmacogenetic determinants of warfarin in the Indian population

Pharmacological Reports, 2021
Several studies optimized the warfarin dose based on CYP2C9*2, CYP2C9*3, VKORC1 -1639 G > A, CYP4F2 V433M. But, the information on the rare variants is lacking. In this study, we have explored the prevalence of common and rare pharmacogenetic determinants of warfarin and determined their damaging nature. We have analyzed 2000 healthy adults using the ...

The distribution of mercury in the Indian population

Science of The Total Environment, 1986
Data have been obtained for the distribution of mercury in a non-occupationally exposed Indian adult group and compared with data available from other regions. The biological elimination half time for mercury of 33 days obtained here is in good agreement with the corresponding value for inorganic mercury compounds.

Further Observations on the In^a (Indian) Antigen in Indian Populations

Vox Sanguinis, 1974
Abstract. Incidence of the Ina antigen in 1749 Indians in Bombay was 2.9%, and the gene frequency of Ina was 0.0371. Classification of these subjects into various broad communities showed the incidence of In(a+) to range from 2.3 to 4.5%. Ina was equally distributed in various ABO groups and in Rho‐positive and Rho‐negative individuals. Family studies

Gene diversity in Indian populations

Human Genetics, 1977
Gene frequency data of ten protein and enzyme loci in seven populations of India were collected from the literature. The gene differentiation among seven populations relative to total population was only 0.6%, indicating that the genic variation between populations was small compared to that within them.
