Haptoglobin Types in a Paraujano Indian Population
Vox Sanguinis, 1960SummaryHaptoglobin groups from 116 Paraujano Indians were studied, showing two ahaptoglobinaemic subjects, one of whom was suffering from acquired haemolytic anaemia. The rest showed the following Hp frequencies: 29.0%, group 1‐1; 48.2%, 2‐1 and 22.8%, 2‐2. This gives a frequency of 0.53 for the Hp1 gene and 0.47 for the Hp2 gene.
